The Arches gig last night

Posted on:  September 6, 2008 10:39 by em:two

Well last night at The Arches went really well. The first band who were on were The Exhibition, really good solid indie tunes, not really our sorta stuff but awesome sound.

We went on second and we all felt and looked more relaxed, especially The Dean Bird, so that was a plus. The music was tight and the vocals were good actually!

Cheers to Glen for the great sound again! Oh, and he videoed some of the set for his internet channel, we'll keep you posted on that later...

Last up were our new buddies (underused word that, buddy) Black Jak, as ever they did a brilliant set, can't beat these guys.

Cheers to everyone that came and see you at the next one!

Pulse bar gig - 4th September

Posted on:  September 5, 2008 09:38 by em:two

Well GBF played at Pulse last night with the brilliant Loman and King Simian. The crows was largely non existant but many thanks to those who did come.

It's a weird setup at these gigs ya know cos it must cost the venue to put the night on but never seem to publicise it to get people in. And it is a school night isn't it so that's gonna put people off.

Anyway, it was very enjoyable, had a good laugh on stage and the lads did a crakcin job, Dean did especially well.

Arches tonight, let's see if the throat holds up!

A bit on the gig last night, from a personal perspective

Posted on:  September 1, 2008 11:55 by em:two

Green Ball Flyers played at Isaacs last night in Barnsley. It was actually a really good gig, really enjoyed it.

I gotta be honest, i was a bit annoyed with my voice though. It felt actually very good, I didn't have to strain at all, but it actually broke a couple of times which really annoyed the hell out of me. I'm hoping (and our girt (who knows about this stuff) thinks this too)  that it's just my voice getting used to actually being used productivly for a change. I mean I'm still new to singing so it probably can't take all the exertion it's getting.

That said, we've got three gigs this week so that should be a great test of whether it'll die or not! I'll let ya know!

The songs went down really well though, I absolutely love 9th Wonder and the crowd seem to too. Amazing that it's a song inspired by a TV show (Heroes) and brings out the geek in me. Seems to apply though to many situations and scenarios so I'm glad it's getting great feedback.

Green Ball Flyers new songs have arrived!

Posted on:  August 26, 2008 22:59 by em:two

Now then all, momentous occasion: the new Green Ball Flyers songs have landed and we're actually happy with them!

There's still a couple of little vocal bits we need to tweak but they're not bad at all. We've done three songs, those being:

  1. Jack
  2. Blank
  3. Someone You Used To Know

Head on over to http://www.greenballflyers.com to check them out (if we've posted them there yet, if not follow the links to either Facebook or MySpace)!

Let us know what you think!
